Nooo! I did not come this far... to...

  • Sep. 20th, 2009 at 3:17 AM

So, yeah, not much spare money in the budget lately.
Life a little interesting.
WoW has been my timekiller.

Unfortunately, no guild + obnoxiously shy = hard to get things done.

There's not much left for me to do solo other than dailies and pvp.
I finally sucked it up and decided to do heroics.
joined the looking for group app, yeah, that sucks. while people use it, everything is done through [2.Trade] anymore. It took a long time to get a bite. When I finally did, the group disbanded before we even hit the instance. Luckily someone from that failed attempt pst'd me for another attempt with a new group, and that group ended up having to replace heals due to 2 wipes bc heals had over 5000 latency.
So, my first instance non solo, and my first heroic ever was Utgarde Pinnacle.

Once we had heals, it was much more fun. Highlight is the cutscene with the Lich King before the Svala fight.
I didn't do too great. I'm going to use the "out of practice" and "learning my new spec" excuses since I haven't done any difficult content in over a year and just switched to affliction as my main spec (from demo) recently

I managed to do over 1000 dps, and that put me in second, but it's still not good. The tank ran ahead constantly, no communication, no time to drop soulwells.... I need to get geared and catch up and find a guild.

Strange things afoot at the LJS.

Bastille Day = Free Fish Taco Day what is the connection? I'm searching for an answer. Is this like finding nemo?

Food vs my maturity

  • Jul. 14th, 2009 at 4:24 PM

In the course of events that suprises noone, my maturity lost.

Foods today that made me laugh, and I laugh every time i see them in the store.
I always want to buy them to see how they ring up on my grocery receipt.

Heinz Spotted Dick
Scottish Woodcock
Gentleman's Relish
Heinz Fully Loaded Red Hot Balls.
Grace's Cock Flavored Soup.

Going to Jungle Jims is like a Worlds fair of immaturity for me. (though it is the best grocery store anywhere ever)

I can't even imagine if there were tv or radio commercials for these foods.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is fail. [UPDATE]

I was looking forward to trying CoJ2 tonight. Picked it up yesterday evening but didn't get to play.

I put the disc in, and read over the manual. "for exclusive content, register this game at www.ubireg.com." cool.

For background, my tv is calibrated. Brought a calibration kit from work, and a tech from work calibrated it. Colors, brightness, everything is where it should be.

The game starts up and wants to do its own gamma setting...fine, in software nudges are okay, as they're only in software. Nope. No setting, either in TV or Monitor settings were correct. I had to change my tv's actual settings for this one piece of software. HUGE strike 1.

I go to the registration site, to register the game to get my exclusive content. The problem is, the only version you can register currently is the PC version. Strike 2.

I go to their "contact us" section. and select where it says "webmaster - select this option for problems with this site" ... Login .... "we're sorry. The site has an unknown error. Try again later. Strike 3.

The back of the case and the website mentions co-op mode. The instruction manual inside the game case clarifies. They've re-defined co-op to mean "single player, but an npc will help you out sometimes". Strike...4?

This is all before even starting a game. That'll be my last ubisoft game for a while.

Disc eject. Back in case. Put at the bottom of the stack. Maybe I'll use it as a coaster.

Now I need to have my tv calibrated again.

Don't bother getting the game if you like your tv to be calibrated correctly or actually want to be able to get your exclusive content, or if you actually wanted to play a co-op game with a friend.

[UPDATE]
Ubisoft's response to my list of problems was that these are all game hint questions, and that I should check gamefaqs or ign.

Veteran of the Wrathgate

  • Jun. 18th, 2009 at 10:48 PM

(wow related)
I don't know if the alliance have a similar quest chain to get this.
Epic Lore Movie at the point you get the acheivement.
wow...i'm kinda stunned.
(i'm a geek)
For the horde, the last quest before the movie is "Return to Angrathar"
After the movie is "Darkness Stirs"
for the curious, i'm sure you can find the Wrathgate lore movie, but massive spoilers are involved just do the quest if you're horde, and look into it if you're Alliance.

[info]mykeamend has enacted his latest invention! A electro mechanical device that can transmit to you your daily secret mission. Click on my secret mission to go retrieve your daily adventure!

The Secret Adventure Mission Generator - a New Mission Daily!

Some really cool notes about it:

-A different mission per each name per each day of the year. No more having to type different names to get better missions... just come back tomorrow, if you survive.
-The image generated is permanent, in other words, it is not going to change on your profile the next day. Yes, this means you must come back to get another one, but it saves you from proudly displaying a neat mission, and looking silly when another less flattering one replaces it.

Is it the same?

  • Jun. 13th, 2009 at 1:37 PM

I was just thinking, when mom taught me, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"

is that the same as "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can be used against you."?

Any guesses as to what this says?

Decided to end the day by saying it with pictures. Enjoy.

The evening plan

  • Jun. 10th, 2009 at 5:09 PM

Just to remind myself and to stay on track (and so people can stalk me), it looks like the evening plan is:
Get my current netflix movies ready to send back.
Work out while playing WoW on the notebook
Shower
Work on screenplays
Help someone in a bad situation move some heavy things before they get ruined
Attempt to work on screenplays but watch a movie while playing  WoW instead
Sleep.

Sorry for the drama.

I apologize.  Hopefully I didn't make too many people drop me as a friend last night after my last post (now deleted).
Between stress and lack of sleep, everything started to seem like it was a huge deal.
And me, being a moron posted about it without thinking it through AND overstated things.
I think I just need a series of long naps.
I'm probably just going to drop some of the things I'm working on and concentrate only on my family and my day job i think.
