angstmac@angsthaus.com BioBorn in a small town in N. KY. I had an angsty time of growing up, most of my relatives being not so savory characters, my dad handicapped watching tv all day and my mom doing all the work around the house after working all day. I got kicked out a lot for things that in hindsight even my mom admits were just a lashing out from stress. I used this time to travel a lot.
In the small town where I grew up, I lived near a redstone drive-in(Pike 27), and went there fairly often. This will date me, but one of my earliest movie memories is watching Billy Jack. It had to be a re-release as I'm sure I couldn't have remembered it at the age I was when it had its limited run, but by the re-release, I was reading, so maybe. I can still clearly remember watching movies on the big screen surrounded by trees, the neon of the concession stand. The drive home, half asleep in the back seat covered with a blanket, and the cool night air washing over me from the rolled down windows. I still love going to this day and occasionally make the short drive up to the Holiday Auto Theatre to do so. I used to cut the old drive in and theater ads out of the newspaper and collect them. One day, I'd like to wallpaper a room in them.
